Egg and Dart can trace its origins to classical antiquity, particularly to Greek and Roman architecture. The ancient Greeks alternated the egg shape with the arrow shape to symbolise nothing less than life and death. Sometimes the egg ovals may be separated by other narrow elements, shaped to resemble points, anchors, or tongues.
We hold moulds for several more egg and dart cornice designs, all with slight variations in size and enrichments. These can be found by using the ‘Select Type’ product filter which can be found on the shop front page.
