All Victorian houses would have had ceiling coving (cornices) in them when originally designed and built. Victorian coving is an interchangeable term with Victorian cornice. The ‘cove’ typically being a plain arch moulding between ceiling and wall line. Cornices are more heavily enriched and can be flatter in appearance.
This Victorian cove features detail moulded into the top and bottom edges to produce an elegant and not over-elaborate decoration.
We hold moulds for several more Victorian cornice profiles, some plain and some enriched. These can be filtered by using the ‘Select Period’ drop menu which can be found on the shop front page.
