ABOUT THIS CORNICE DESIGN

The Acanthus is one of the most common plant forms found on decorative plaster mouldings. Acanthus cornice features an arrangement of stylized jagged leaves based on the Mediterranean plant and its use dates back to ancient Greece, where it appears on columns and wall friezes. Acanthus Leaf enrichments are a popular feature on Victorian cornice displayed in buildings from the 19th century.

We hold moulds for many leaf enriched cornice profiles, all with slight variations in size and complexity. These can be found by using the ‘Select Type’ product filter which can be found on the shop front page.
