The scenario

The gallery underwent a 12.5 million renovation of the European 1600-1815 galleries. Our instruction entailed the manufacture and installation of a complex fishtail pattern, Glassfibre Reinforced Gypsum high-level ceiling. This was formed from GRG ceiling tiles, pieced together on-site.

The challenges

Budget and deadline were extremely tight as well as managing an intricate and complex design/pattern.

Our solution

Having been passed the architects drawing, we worked with the contractor to produce CAD drawings for approval.

Our work

We formed two latex moulds to create two separate patterns. 5 to 6 tiles made up one pattern. The tiles were then fibre fixed, glued and screwed into plywood substrate.

Client’s feedback

“We found the quality of your company’s work and the attitude of your management to be excellent. Your safety ethos is what we would expect from a valued member of our supply chain and the fact  that you always maintained a can-do attitude did not go unnoticed and was very much appreciated. Mike Arney is an absolute credit to your company and I should be grateful if you would acknowledge this and pass on our best wishes.” Mustafa Ulla, Operations Director
