Knole is a country house and former archbishop’s palace owned by the National Trust. The house ranks in the top five of England’s largest houses, occupying a total of four acres within Knole Park, a 1,000-acre park in Kent.<\/p>

Andrew Bradley was brought in to oversee and manage the redecoration, executed by others, with the aim to restore the previous colour scheme including replication of graining to the frieze arcade.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

One of London’s oldest restaurants, Simpson’s offers diners a contemporary take on classic British dining. The Grand Divan is the historic heart of the Grade II listed building, a luxurious oak-panelled room lit by crystal chandeliers surrounded by ornate plasterwork.<\/p>

The challenge here was to replicate the broken colour work as applied by a team of Italian decorators. Inspection holes were cut into the ceiling in isolated areas and on survey completion, sealed over and prepared to make ready for decorating.<\/p>

A series of colour readings were taken, and several exemplar boards produced for client selection. The techniques used for the original scheme were replicated with the remedial decoration blending in seamlessly.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Savoy is a world-renowned luxury hotel in central London which first opened its doors in 1889.<\/p>

After a ceiling survey was undertaken and all inspection holes resealed and prepared, a reading was taken of the existing ceiling colour and replicated to both the coffered panels and decorative frieze. All works were completed out of hours with minimal disruption to the operation of the hotel.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This project required us to restore the ceiling colour and blend in gold leaf and paint finish to isolated areas. The house at 44 Berkeley Square was built in 1740 and hosts The Clermont Club, an exclusive gaming and hospitality enterprise for the great and good of London society.<\/p>

This was a comprehensive decoration project to clean existing, and restore lost gold leaf, adding patina where required, before undertaking general decoration to walls, ceilings, joinery and metalwork.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The RAA is an independent, privately funded institution based in Burlington House on Piccadilly. The Senate Room is a light and airy first floor space home to an elegant restaurant and features tall windows and high ceilings with decorative enrichments.<\/p>

The walls and joinery were redecorated to replicate the existing scheme, but the ceiling was restored, after plaster repairs. Existing colours were digitally recorded and colours matched whilst, in isolated areas, a patina was added to blend in with the existing finish.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The RA Schools has been a key part of the Royal Academy since its foundation in 1769, and is an independent, contemporary school of art at the centre of the RA. Part of the facilities include studio spaces, shared as open plan or allocated individually.<\/p>

As part of a refurbishment and transformation project, the walls, ceilings and fixtures were painted and decorated throughout, in studios, corridors, canteen, offices and stores, to meet the main contractor’s programme.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The East India Club is a private members club situated at 16, St James’s Square in London. The facilities of the club include sixty-seven bedrooms, a formal dining room, bars, meeting rooms and more housed within the Grade II listed building.<\/p>

A partial repair and redecoration to the lower section of the front elevation was completed to everyone\u2019s satisfaction with the assistance of Mayron Ltd. Modern materials were required for the exterior decoration works that were both hard wearing and visually pleasing. The Swiss Church is a beautiful Grade II listed church in Covent Garden available for private hire.<\/p>

The interior decoration scheme was simplified along with hints of metal leaf to isolated features. The exterior was chemically stripped and prepared, ready to receive a mineral paint. Downing Street houses the official residences and offices of the Prime Minister and the Chancellor of the Exchequer.<\/p>

Working in collaboration with Mayron Ltd, the ceilings were prepared and spray finished on an out of hours basis. A reconstruction of the Globe Theatre, an Elizabethan playhouse for which William Shakespeare wrote his plays, the building is constructed in a traditional fashion and is a tourist attraction and live performance venue.<\/p>

Isolated exterior wall panels were restored in traditional lime plaster and painted using a Tallow Limewash. Once a former cinema and entertainment space and now a place for spiritual worship, we were tasked with replicating a previous and far more decorative finish. Restoration of a Robert Adam decorative ceiling following damage caused by a water leak. We worked closely with Butler Hegarty Architects, the client and conservation officers to ensure a sympathetic and correct finish for this Grade I listed London property.<\/p>
