On Thursday 9th June, the Finishes & Interiors Sector (FIS) held their 2022 Contractors Awards ceremony at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. The annual event pays tribute to the sector’s high achievers, their design and craftsmanship, across a number of categories including interior fit out, partitioning, ceilings and plastering.
Artisan Plastercraft was shortlisted in the Heritage Plastering category for the extensive work completed at The Grand Hotel Birmingham. Up against some wonderful projects and highly credible competitors, we were delighted to be announced as category winners. The 2022 FIS Heritage Plastering Award compliments similar awards won in 2015 and 2019 for our plasterwork restoration at The Wallace Collection Great Gallery and The Royal Academy of Arts respectively.
The FIS judges commented, “Members have excelled themselves in presenting to us a myriad of high quality, stunning projects. However, ultimately, we have to make the difficult decision of who is crowned winner.”
On Artisan’s work at The Grand Hotel Birmingham; “An excellent and extensive restoration to a hotel that had fallen into a considerable degree of disrepair”. “As ever, meticulous attention to detail and intricate workmanship delivered an excellent final result.”
We wish to thank the FIS and their judges for the award, as well as the architects orchestrating the restoration of The Grand Hotel Birmingham, Arup and the main appointed contractor, GRAHAM.
